What is the Aston Martin Racing DBR9 No.009 LM 2008 Story?
The ASTON MARTIN DBR9 continues an unbroken line from when the DBR1 burst onto the racing scene at Le Mans in 1959. With victories at Le Mans and other major races around the world, this machine made a large contribution to Aston Martin Racing's glittering racing history. The racing version retained the cylinder block and heads of the road car, but the rest of the car was tuned for competition. The six speed sequential transmission and large diameter carbon brakes on front and rear combined with the hand-made carbon body designed with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) mounted on the aluminum frame that united the latest aeromechanics technology with the distinctive Aston Martin style. The No.009 car of 2008 combined the traditional British Racing Green with Gulf colors to claim its second successive victory in the GT1 Class at Le Mans.
