The RB5 prototype that dominated the 1/10 electric off-road 2WD class at the Japan Nationals in 2009 becomes a production model in the form of the Ultima RB5 SP2. The proven performance of the RB5 at other major racing events around the world has been taken to the next level with the significant improvements in this SP version. The Ultima RB5 SP2 features the latest racing specifications including compatibility with brushless motor and Lipo battery. For example, the unique design of the motor mount locates the rotor, and therefore the motor’s mass and volume, as close to the lateral center as possible. The effects of torque fluctuation with RPM change are minimized for precision control balance. Also, the long tread of the upper arms on the rear suspension is maintained to minimize camber change during suspension stroke and realizes improved road holding and cornering speed. With the Ultima RB5 SP2, you are equipped to compete successfully at the highest level.

The motor’s rotor is positioned near the lateral center of the chassis to control the effects on cornering of torque fluctuations from throttle input.

  

Optimal rear shock mounting position on the lower arm allows the shock to follow the suspension stroke for smoother movement.

  

While maintaining the wheel offset, the upper arm of the rear hub is positioned deeper inside the wheel, allowing a wider setting range.

New design motor guard is compatible with the long sensor terminals of brushless motors and protects against hits from the rear.

  

Equipped with the popular optional M-size stepped wing as standard. Provides effective down force under a wide range of driving conditions.
