The three key attributes for a successful beginner trainer are rock-solid stability, calm control response and easy assembly. With an optimal balance of all three and an advanced autopilot mechanism that levels the airplane automatically, the CALMATO TR EP1400 is the perfect introduction to R/C airplane flight. An infrared sensor marks the horizon and automatically adjusts elevator and aileron to keep the airplane flying level and counter the effects of wind or the tendency for beginners to apply too much control input. If you make a mistake and get into trouble, just remove your hands from the control sticks and the autopilot will level the airplane out automatically. In addition, when used with a 5-channel R/C system, the auto-correction response can be adjusted manually from a range of 100% - 0%. For example, this allows the autopilot to be applied at 100% at higher altitudes and then reduced to 0% when the airplane is closer to the ground and shadows merge with the horizon. Also, the autopilot can be set at 100% to begin with and as confidence and skill improves, it can be adjusted down accordingly. Expertly covered in film, this factory assembled ARF kit requires no gluing and as expected of a Kyosho model, only a few easy steps are needed for pre-flight preparation. With brushless motor, propeller, spinner, tires and linkage parts all included, only a few extra items are needed to get airborne. The clean and quiet benefits of an electric airplane mean there is no oil mess to clean up and no engine starting tools required. With its added autopilot function the CALMATO TR EP1400 makes R/C airplane flight the most enjoyable and rewarding experience, right from the start.

Tricycle landing gear allows stable landings and takeoffs. Features rudder connected nose gear for steering control on the ground.

  

Beginner-friendly fuselage structure uses wing bolts that can be tightened by hand, a fixed tail fin, and requires no gluing to complete.

Radio compartment features plenty of space for easy linkage adjustment. Vertical fin and servo bed are also pre-fixed so no difficult work is left to complete.
