■About 1/8 Truggy In 1/8 Truggy qualifying, it was all Kyosho's Jared Tebo. Tebo went on to TQ 3 out of the 4 rounds of qualifying to guarantee him the top spot starting in the semi's. Kyosho's Cody King qualified an impressive 4th overall in qualifying with a 3rd overall and 4th overall for a total of 7 points. In the 1/8 Truggy Semi, Tebo picked up right where he left off in qualifying to win the 30-minute race while setting the fastest overall time out of both semi's. This allowed Tebo to start 1st for the 45-minute Truggy A-Main Event. Cody King was unable to transfer out of his semi after some bad luck, but would make up for it in Buggy. At the start of the Truggy A-Main, Tebo got a great start and only after a couple laps began to open up a lead on the field. Tebo's Team Orion powered Kyosho ST-RR was hooked up and on a mission. Tebo's tire choice also proved to be a great advantage by using the AKA Grid-Iron's in Super Soft compound for the wet conditions. At the halfway point of the Main, Tebo had opened up a 15-second lead on second place. Kyosho America Team Manager Joe Pillars and Kyosho America Team Driver Steven Daniluk provided Tebo with lightning fast pit stops throughout the entire 45-minute A-Main. As Tebo began to work through lap traffic he continued to lay down fast lap after lap that couldnt be matched. At the end of the 45-minute A-Main event it was Tebo being the only driver to make it by the line for the 72nd lap and taking the win by over 25 seconds. This giving Jared his first ever 1/8 Scale National Title! |

■About 1/8 Buggy In 1/8 Buggy Qualifying, Tebo went on to qualify 2nd in round 1 and TQ'ed round 3 giving him 2 points. This would put him 2nd overall. Cody King went on to qualify 6th in round 1 and 6th in round 3 to give him 12 points and 9th overall. In the Buggy Semi's Tebo and King both put in great runs to transfer them into the A-Main Event. Tebo would finish 2nd in his semi and King would finish 5th in his. This would put Tebo in the 4th starting position and King in the 11th starting position for the 1-Hour A-Main Event. As the tone went off for the Buggy Main Event, all 15 cars made it around the first corner clean and the race was on. A first lap pile-up in the whoop section allowed Tebo to go from 4th to 2nd. By the time Tebo came in for his first round of pit stops, he was in the lead. Tebo put his head down and begain to click off fast laps. At the halfway point, Tebo had opened up an 11 second lead on 2nd place. Tebo's Team Orion powered Kyosho MP9 TKI-2 was hooked up with AKA Grid-Irons in Super Soft Compound. Once again, Kyosho's Joe Pillars and Steven Daniluk made fast and consistant pit stops. At the end of the 1-Hour A-Main Event, Tebo was the only driver to make it by for the extra 93rd lap and to take the win by over 15 seconds. This gave Jared his 2nd 1/8 Scale National Championship and the Clean Sweep for the weekend. Tebo also made ROAR history by being the first and only driver to Sweep both the Truggy and Buggy classes in the same year! |

A big thanks goes out to Team Orion's Adrien Bertin
for traveling all the way from France to attend this years Nationals
once again. His expertise was very helpful with engines and car
set-ups. Also, Mark Pavidis from AKA for helping with the tire selection
for the entire event. |
