The lead up to this Monitor Report entry:
I've been interested in RC for a while but the two cars I am currently running are:
1. A 1/18 Stadium Truck with brushless motor and Li-Po battery
2. A KYOSHO Inferno ST with 28-class engine that runs great anywhere.
I love driving both of these but I was feeling it was about time for a change.
Then I noticed the number of new 1/18 and 1/16 class mini GP's that were being released and decided that one of these was for me. I researched everyday for about two months. The more I researched, the more I wanted one, and that is how I found this monitor report entry. I bared my soul in the comments and clicked send. To my surprise, today a prize arrived on my doorstep from KYOSHO for my monitor report entry.
My first impressions when I opened the box:
It felt quite different to when I first opened the box of my 1/8 Inferno ST. Firstly it looked much stronger than I expected. When I handled the 09 it also felt tough, but it was light too.
Pre-run Preparation:
Not really much to do, after all it is a Readyset.
I loaded batteries in the transmitter and connected up the receiver battery, then turned the power ON.
WOW, it's moving and ready for action - easy because it's a Readyset.
Too late for a drive tonight, so I'll break in the engine tomorrow.
For the sake of this report, I wasn't going to change anything, but I really wanted to use my own transmitter so I swapped the included receiver for my own.
I thought this would be the best way to compare the Mini-Inferno 09 to other cars that I drive.
Anyway its close to midnight so I'm off to bed.
From Break-In to first Run:
I was looking forward to hearing what sound the SIRIO 09 engine would put out.
Well let's start up!
Great!!
Is this really an engine break-in? It runs smooth so it doesn't even feel like a break-in.
Starting was a breeze. Thanks to the special starter box. It fits perfectly and is easy to use.
I can't open up the throttle during the break-in, but it sounds great even at half throttle. This SIRIO is a dream.
I only run through 4 tanks to save the fun for later.
Am I looking forward to testing this little dynamo.
