PLAMODEL RADICON SHOW 2005

SHOW REPORT

Non-Stop Excitement at the 3-D Demo Course

As one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Plastic Model and R/C Show was held at Tokyo Big Site. The first day was a trade-only day, so here is the report on what we saw! The Kyosho booth was the focus of major announcements. The anticipation for what new products Kyosho would announce and demonstrate was intense. But the level of activity in the Kyosho booth was set to increase even further for the public on the following open admission days and wasn’t to be missed either. If you are reading this now and if you can make it on the 23rd or 24th, I suggest you get down here!

The first big surprise at the Kyosho Booth was the massive size of the demonstration area. There was plenty of space for R/C cars to drive around freely and even engage in some short races. As I arrived, the all-new Mini-Z AWD was hurtling around the demo track. As the first AWD chassis in the Mini-Z series, I was amazed at the shear performance of this little dynamo and the way it drifted through turns was nothing short of spectacular.

The new versions of the Half-8 Mini Inferno and ST were also showing their superior control while flying around and over every corner of the demo course. Almost all the new products on display were given their chance to shine, including some that hadn’t even been heard of! With each demonstration lasting about 1 hour, it would be an easy way to spend the whole day, just watching without getting bored.

This is the Mini-Z AWD. It was moving so fast it was hard to catch with the camera. I just wish you could have seen the demo for yourself at the hobby show!
You can experience that great sensation of drifting through turns that AWD vehicles produce.

Fresh from winning the most sort after prize in R/C motor racing, the 2005 1/8 Racing Car World Championship winning EVOLVA 2005 was also on display.

Kyosho’s awesome range of car models was on show in all its glory. You had to be at the show to appreciate the form and finish of this magnificent collection. Please come and see for yourself!

The speed and control of the new Mini Inferno ST was breathtaking.
Especially the awesome heights reached over jumps.
The Mini Inferno ST’s awesome jumping power was greeted with huge applause.

The new Mini-Z MR-015HM chassis and its perfectly formed Mini Cooper body was also a big hit. The Mini-Z captures the imagination of everyone from past generations to the present.
