With its announcement through the mass media, the world’s attention was drawn to the remarkable 1/5 scale humanoid athlete “MANOI”.
The R/C robot competition and MANOI’s release date was planned to be the major announcement of this year’s hobby show, but such was the level of expectation, that MANOI also responded by performing a demonstration.
With announcements of MANOI’s public debut broadcast in between R/C model demonstrations throughout the day, people began to gather in front of the stage until the room was filled to capacity.
With this snap decision, MANOI demonstrated some simple movements on the narrow stage such as walking, turning and balancing on one leg in a display that left the large crowd totally awestruck.
While we eagerly look forward to the day in June next year when we should be able to purchase our own MANOI, Kyosho’s development team promised that no-one would be left disappointed. Then came the announcement of the official R/C robot athletics competition to start in August next year which ensured that many people will be closely watching the development of MANOI until that big day. |
